Programs & Virtual Learning Information
As we continue to experience unprecedented times, your program chairs are working to figure out how to bring you new and creative quilting programs. One of the things in the forefront is how to provide digital lectures/workshops when we cannot meet in person. If you have participated in digital workshops, or have interesting videos that you have seen, we would be interested to know what you like or didn’t like. It is a different time for sure but we believe that we can all continue to learn and share. With that said, the following is a list of websites and videos that we have had an opportunity to view and encourage you to check them out as well. Remember we are never too old to learn something new. Be well and stay safe.

Quilt Shop Opportunities Across the USA

Many quilt shops across the country offer Facebook Live opportunities to visit their shops. Most of these shops started their virtual programs during this pandemic. Groups of shops got together and did several “Cooped Up Quilter” shop hops. Pennington Quilt Works participated in one of these shop hops, possibly the first one. Since then various shops have been doing virtual presentations anywhere from 1-5 days a week. Topics include shop tours, new tools, fabric collections, kits, demos of techniques or tools and of course sales. Some are better than others, but all are interesting. The Facebook Live presentations do not have to be viewed at their ‘live’ time. They are kept on Facebook for a few weeks to be viewed at your leisure. Below is a list of participating shops with their websites. If you find them and ‘like’ them on Facebook you can view their programs. Give some of them a try. It is fun and keeps quilters motivated.
